Morocco is situated in northwestern Africa on the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. Through the middle of the country runs the High Atlas Mountains (Jebel Toubkal, 4,165 m), parallel to the stretching Atlas Medium (Jebel Bou Nasr, 3340 m) to the north and the Anti-Atlas (Imkut, 2531 m) to the south. Along the Mediterranean coast rise Ar-Rif mountains (Jabal Tidighin, 2456 m). In the southern and south-eastern part are rocky and sandy deserts of the Sahara.
